McDonald The couple are successful serial entrepreneurs, who after years of experience in property investment and services industries embarked on an innovative and fascinating strategy in forming Away Resorts.Together with Asian based hotel and design professionals they are building their "Away and X2 Resort" chain, starting with resorts in Samui, Kui Buri and Koh Kood.

The Away owners recognized that in this high speed life that we live in there is a desperate need to provide people an excuse and opportunity to truly slow down and appreciate life once more

Founded on the precepts that we largely live in an “Age if Rage”, Away provides guests a renewed balance in life. Developed on the philosophy of Slow, Away Resorts are designed to allow guests to enjoy their vacation at the right speed (tempo giusto). In a society that is control by time, where time is money, Away allows guests to live life at the tempo it was meant to be, and enjoy the simpler things in life.

It is not a new religion, or strict doctrine, because we don’t take ourself that seriously. It is more an interpretation of enjoying the simpler things in life and provide a break from the high velocity life we all tend to be trapped in.

Our signature restaurant, "Escape", is located to provide one the most beautiful views on the island. A favourite dining place for both guests and visitors it has an a selection of international dishes, as well as Asian fusion and seafood specialties.

Although the main activity at Away Resorts is simple relaxation, we do offer a number of interesting activities for those that wish to do a little more. Fortunate for Away Resorts guests, is the fact that the resort offers Koh Kood’s only water and activity centre. The centre offers:
